I've been meaning to put these drawings on here for so long. I just wanted to show everyone where I was artisticaly ten years ago. I drew all these, plus several others that were just too horrible to put here, between 1996 and 1998. These were my earliest attempts at drawing the human anatomy from head to toe. Back then it didn't occur to me to first fraw the figure then put clothing on it.
I coppied, not traced, all of these out of The Complete Book of Flower Fairies by Cicley Mary Barker. It's a collection of fairy illustrations with a corresponding poem and some short stories. I urge you to check them out.
I picked these because they were the most anatomicaly correct and/or I like the coloring job I did on the clothing and/or hair.
Here are the flowers these fairies represent from left to right:
Jasmine (was the first one I ever did even before I got the book in 1996), Lily-Of-The-Vally, Clover, Almond Blossom, White Bindweed, Willow Tree, Elderberry, Elm Tree, Rosehip, Mountain Ash Tree, and Mallow. (the last one I did in 1998)
This time I'm not asking for critquing. It's been ten years since some of these were drawn and I think I've improved at least a little in ten years.
Oh yah. If you're wondering about the white fuzz on some of the fairies' hands it's because they were so horribly drawn I'd really rather not let anyone see them if I can help it.
So this is why you are so good at drawing female proportions! I remember when I used to "eyeball" (gaia thing) stuff, I always got the head too big T_T And proportions got messed up anyway.... *sigh*
I was thinking about putting some of my old pics together too.from way back in elementary school and up until now. *lol* I've actually saved some, the look stupid .....
Forgive me but I don't think they look all that bad either even though they're a million years old. Haven't I shown you these B4? I need to show them to you if you ever come over.
